Full icon tutorial - 5-minutes-icons (Photoshop 7)
Because I've been asked here's a small tutorial how to use one of my bases.
This is what you could make for example:

I take this base:

and this picture of Gandalf:

Resize the picture and paste it as a new layer to the base.
Set the blending mode to Luminosity.

Now select the eraser tool and erase parts of the pic. Sharpen the layer. Then place text somewhere you like it. That's it.

Flatten image and play around with the Hue/Saturation settings. Finally it could look like this:

Please comment if you think this tutorial was useful. :-)

Yep, that was very useful...for some reason I didn't think of blending the colors together, (although it looks good), I just used them as a background :P

I just wanted to say that I found this really useful - especially with bad screen caps. I also learned more about using the different blending changes for layers.

My icons came out really interesting using these bases and I'm going to have to go back and download some more!

Thanks for putting this up!

I plan to try this out very soon. I got some bases, and was wondering how to use them. One question, I am only seeing the base you used, Is that just me?
